6 years agoDetroit Tigers outfielder Nicholas Castellanos had a monstrous game on Monday, collecting five hits and five RBI, including his 17th homer of the year. But he wasn't able to keep that momentum going on Tuesday, as the slugger went hitless and whiffed three times. Castellanos looked like he was on his way to a career year early on in this campaign, but he's faltered considerably down the stretch. Prior to the All Star break, Castellanos was batting .303 with 15 homers, but since then he has managed to hit just .212 and has only homered twice. Perhaps most startling is the fact that he's taken just two walks since the break, and perhaps this lack of patience is what's led to a fall-off in other areas. He's not a player to cut, but he needs to be benched until he can bust out of this prolonged slump.--Tyler Germain - RotoBaller
