7 years agoCleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon remains in Florida under the care of his NFL-sanctioned medical team. Gordon will be allowed to report to training camp if his doctors think he's ready to handle the demands of the NFL and stay clean and sober. He hasn't failed a test, so no suspension is anticipated once he returns. Nobody knows if he'll be back by Week 1, but the Browns remain optimistic that he'll return soon. Gordon's decision to stay away could also be related to a custody battle with Christina Lockhart. It looks like he's been staying in shape while away from the team, but he'll need time to get in football shape in regards to contact. Each passing day that Gordon isn't in training camp his fantasy value takes a little bit of a hit. We know the talent is there, but all his off-field issues make him a huge risk. The off-field concerns aren't at the forefront anymore, but we have to wonder how effective he'd even be if he reports to the Browns shortly before Week 1. And what if he doesn't report until after the regular season starts? That's the risk you take if you draft Gordon.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
