6 years agoNew York Jets tight end Clive Walford racked up two receptions for 25 yards, including a 19-yard catch, in Thursday's preseason loss in Washington. He led all of the team's tight ends statistically, really helping his stock. The former standout at the University of Miami and ex-Oakland Raiders pass catcher, was buried on the unofficial depth chart behind Eric Tomlinson, Jordan Leggett, Neal Sterling and Chris Herndon IV. However, Walford took advantage of his opportunities and is likely to ascend pass some of the underachievers ahead of him. It wouldn't be terribly shocking to not only see Walford rise, but eventually settle into the starting job among this mish-mash of tight ends. He shouldn't be on anyone's fantasy radar right now, but it's a situation worth monitoring.--Daniel Dobish
