Wayne Gallman Pushing Hard For More Work
6 years agoNew York Giants running back Wayne Gallman reportedly impressed the coaching staff with his work in the most recent preseason game against the Detroit Lions, and his strong training camp and preseason is clouding the role of newcomer and veteran Jonathan Stewart. Gallman posted 476 rushing yards on 111 carries in 2017, and he added 193 yards on 34 receptions, showing some nice versatility. Gallman is pushing hard for the primary backup job to rookie Saquon Barkley, and he could potentially push the oft-injured Stewart to the back burner sooner rather than later. The former Clemson standout is looking like the more attractive handcuff to Barkley right now.
