Panthers Suffer Another Injury Along Offensive Line
6 years agoCarolina Panthers offensive tackle Jeremiah Sirles suffered a hamstring injury in the preseason game against the New England Patriots on Friday and he was unable to return. The Panthers O-line has been dinged up this preseason, as Sirles joins Matt Kalil (knee) on the sidelines. OG Amini Silatolu (knee) suffered a torn meniscus, while Pro Bowl OT Daryl Williams (knee) has a dislocated kneecap and a torn medial collateral ligament. OT Taylor Moton made his first start at left tackle for Kalil, while Greg Van Roten made his second start at left guard. The latter did a good job with three downfield blocks after opening a big gap for running back Christian McCaffrey. The replacements did a good job in the key third preseason game, so perhaps things aren't as bleak in Charlotte.
