6 years agoWashington Redskins running back Samaje Perine (ankle) did not play in Friday's preseason game against the Denver Broncos. Head coach Jay Gruden said after the game that he is hopeful Perine will be able to suit up for the exhibition finale against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday. Perine is expected to share the workload with newcomer and fellow Oklahoma Sooners alum Adrian Peterson, but he needs to get healthy first. He and Peterson are probably the closest thing to roster locks in the Washington backfield, leaving Kapri Bibbs, Rob Kelley, Byron Marshall (ankle) and Chris Thompson battling for two, or maybe three spots. Someone is going, and it isn't likely Perine.--Daniel Dobish
