Coach Pleased With Performance Of Royce Freeman
6 years agoDenver Broncos running back Royce Freeman rushed five times for 26 yards and a touchdown in the preseason road win against the Washington Redskins. He was not targeted in the passing game. Head coach Vance Joseph said after the game that he was pleased with Freeman's performance and the run game as a whole. Devontae Booker, Freeman's biggest competition for carries, had just nine yards on three totes. De'Angelo Henderson shined with seven runs for 35 yards while adding three grabs for 31 yards. Phillip Lindsay also worked as the third back, posting 31 yards on five rushes while catching one ball for 18 yards. Henderson and Lindsay can mostly be avoided for fantasy purposes, as the real race is between Booker and Freeman. Right now, Freeman looks like the most capable, but both will get their fair share of touches early on.
