6 years agoLos Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon did not play in the team's third preseason game against the New Orleans Saints as he was away from the team tending to a family matter. Fantasy owners everywhere can breathe a sigh of relief, as his absence wasn't injury related. Austin Ekeler was solid in the blowout loss, and he remains the clear-cut No. 2 tailback and handcuff to Gordon. Meanwhile, Detrez Newsome appears to have nailed down the No. 3 job. Gordon continues to fly off the board in the first or second round across all fantasy leagues. He has rolled up 2,102 rushing yards with 18 touchdowns over the past two seasons while posting 99 grabs for 895 yards and six more scores through the air.--Daniel Dobish
