Elijah McGuire Will Not Be Ready For Week 1
6 years agoNew York Jets running back Elijah McGuire (foot) will not be ready for the regular season opener, head coach Todd Bowles said over the weekend. The coach also added that he would not rule placing the back on the short-term injured reserve list to start the season. With McGuire falling by the wayside in the backfield logjam, it appears the future might be a little brighter for Thomas Rawls in his pursuit of a job. Trenton Cannon, George Atkinson and/or Charcandrick West could also potentially make the roster. However, the only backs worth rostering in a fantasy league will be Isaiah Crowell, a decent low-end RB2 in most formats, while Powell is more of a low-end RB3 or flex option in PPR, while serving as an RB4 in standard play.
