6 years agoToronto Blue Jays designated hitter Kendrys Morales is on some kind of roll right now. He smacked a two-run shot off of Philadelphia Phillies starter Vince Velasquez in the third inning of Sunday's game, making that his seventh straight game with a home run. He has raised his average up to a season-high .264 with the hot stretch while tallying 21 home runs and 54 RBI. He has an opportunity to tie the major league record for consecutive games with a homer on Monday night against the lowly Baltimore Orioles. David Hess is scheduled to take the mound for the O's, and he possesses a 5.50 ERA on the season. While this kind of productivity is clearly unsustainable, Morales is making it very hard to leave him on the waiver wire.
