7 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Marco Gonzales (neck), who was placed on the disabled list with a cervical neck strain on Monday, hopes to resume throwing in a few days. The left-hander said he isn't in any pain, but that it's been tough to sleep. He's hoping he has to miss minimal time on the DL. "It's kind of a muscular thing," manager Scott Servais said, "He's had tests and pictures of it, but there's nothing serious about it other than he can't shake it. We just thought to give him a little more time to calm down and then we'll get him back in the rotation. His arm feels fine, there's no issues there at all, it's just neck tightness." That's good news for Gonzales owners, although he has had a rough go of it in the month of August. Fantasy owners may want to take a wait-and-see approach with him before starting him upon his return to the rotation.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
