ANALYSIS: Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Michael Fulmer is not the type of player that you think that you would find on the waiver wire in September. It has been a rough few outings for Fulmer recently and his ownership levels have tanked. He has allowed at least seven earned runs in two of the past three starts.
On the bright side, Fulmer is a two start pitcher this week, facing the White Sox in Chicago and the Cardinals in Detroit. Fulmer will see the White Sox for the third time in 2018. He’s 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA and eight strikeouts in 10 innings of work against the AL’s Chicago. The White Sox are also 21st in runs scored (567 runs in 135 games) and first in team strikeouts (1,302) this season. While his matchup against the Cardinals is not the best to say the least, adding Fulmer for his start with the White Sox is wise (and he could be a player that turns it around quickly).
