FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (9/3/18): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

While having all 30 teams in action is a welcomed development for this Monday slate, FanDuel unfortunately broke up the slate so that there isn't the majority of games unless you play the all day slate (which doesn't offer major tournaments). That said, this lineup will focus on the early only slate, which features seven games. The Red Sox and Cubs are the most obvious stacks (jam in lefty Cubs -- Kyle Schwarber, Anthony Rizzo, and Ian Happ -- but the White Sox and Tigers matchup favors two pitchers who have a legitimate chance to implode. That's an under-the-radar stack I like.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 9/3/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Dallas Keuchel - SP, vs. MIN ($9,000)

Max Scherzer is the obvious cash game play on the slate, but Keuchel has a matchup worth noting. While the Twins have five regulars in their lineup with a wRC+ above 100, three of them -- Joe Mauer, Logan Forsythe, and Robbie Grossman -- have failed to post an ISO above .126. That’s a good thing for a relatively contact oriented pitcher like Keuchel, and makes him a strong play at a steep discount from Scherzer.

Vince Velasquez - SP, @ MIA ($6,600)

Velasquez has managed to complete five innings only one in his past four starts, making it nearly impossible to trust him in cash game contests. However, he still has a 9.91 K/9 (26.2%), giving him enough upside at his pricetag to be a great GPP dart. He flashed his upside in his last start against the Marlins, recording 46 FD points. The matchup and price tag indicate he’s worth a shot, even if his recent results don’t.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Anthony Rizzo - 1B, @ MIL ($4,400)

Not only has Rizzo slugged over .600 across the last month, but he also has great context for Monday’s slate. He’ll head to Miller Park -- a venue known for it’s friendliness to left-handed power -- and get a matchup against Zach Davies, who is making his first start since May 29. Rizzo is one of the better players to build lineups around on the slate.

Niko Goodrum - 2B @ CWS ($2,700)

Reynaldo Lopez has show glimpses of promise of late but has also gotten shelled for anywhere from four to eight earned runs in single starts. While the Tigers lineup isn’t the easiest to stack, Goodrum has consistently hit fourth or fifth in the order, giving him opportunities to drive in runs. Given the context and his decent form -- he has five home runs in the past month and two in the past week -- he is a nice value play in all contests.

Yolmer Sanchez - 3B, vs DET ($3,000)

Like Goodrum, Sanchez has positive context to help make him an intriguing play on Monday’s slate. Michael Fulmer was shelled in his most recent start, which came on the road and continued his trend of not pitching effectively away from Comerica Park. Given his 6.06 ERA when pitching as a visitor, the White Sox are a team to pay attention to on the slate. Sanchez frequently leads off when there is a right-hander on the mound, and he has been aggressive on the basepaths by stealing three bases in his last six games. All told, he’s a nice option if you decide not to pay up at the position.

Dansby Swanson - SS, vs. BOS ($2,300)

Swanson has flashed surprising power across the last 30 days, posting a .253 ISO in that span. Given that, his pricetag is simply too cheap heading into a matchup against Nathan Eovaldi, who has posted four subpar starts in his last five outings.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Marwin Gonzalez - OF, vs. MIN ($2,900)

Given his recent string of power production, it’s surprising that Gonzalez’s price hasn’t risen more. He ranks third among Astros with meaningful at-bats with a .255 ISO across the last 30 days and draws a matchup against Kyle Gibson, who has been hit hard since the start of August.

Jackie Bradley Jr. - OF, @ ATL ($2,500)

Jackie Bradley is another under-the-radar salary relief option, as he has the third highest ISO (.259) among regulars in the Red Sox lineup across the last 30 days. He’ll draw a matchup against Touki Toussaint, who is making just his second start at the major-league level. While he is a fairly high-end prospect, the Red Sox should be able to get to him.

Also Consider: Ronald Acuna- OF, vs. BOS ($4,500); Ian Happ - OF, vs. MIL ($2,700)
