7 years agoCleveland Indians relief pitcher Andrew Miller (shoulder) threw a successful bullpen session on Thursday for the first time since he went on the disabled list on Aug. 29 with a left shoulder impingement. Pitching coach Carl Willis told manager Terry Francona that the "ball came out really hot." Miller said he feels great after receiving a cortisone shot. The hard-throwing left-hander could be ready to return from the DL as early as next week against the Rays. Because of three trips to the DL this year, Miller has only made 23 appearances on the year and is 2-3 with a 3.38 ERA, although he's averaging a hefty 12.38 strikeouts per nine innings. Lefties are hitting .179 against him, while righties are hitting .217. Miller remains an option for owners in deeper leagues for his ratios, but he's running out of time to make an impact.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
