6 years agoAfter finishing 2017 with more rushing attempts than all but seven teams, Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph suggested the Broncos will remain committed to the ground attack heading into their Week 1 matchup against Seattle. "We have to stay with it," Joseph said. "Obviously, this [Seahawks] defense, it’s a really, really stout front. They are a single-high coverage team, so they’re going to have one more guy in the box than you can account for every down. We have to have a great plan to block that guy or influence that guy, but we can’t get frustrated with the running game." Royce Freeman locked down the Broncos lead running back role after averaging 5.6 yards per carry in the preseason and seems like a solid bet to flirt with 100 yards in his regular season debut against a 'Hawks defense which allowed 114 rushing yards per game a season ago and will be without second leading tackler K.J.
