Joey Votto Hits Grand Slam On Saturday
6 years agoCincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto went 1-for-2 with a walk and a grand slam in his team's 7-2 win over the San Diego Padres on Saturday. The homer was Votto's first since July 9, ending a 36-game drought that goes down as the second-longest of his career. It was a sight for sore eyes for Votto's fantasy owners, who have not been getting the power numbers that they are used to from the star first baseman. Overall, Votto is hitting .283 with 10 homers, 63 runs, 61 RBI, and one steal on the season. Hopefully this is the start of a hot streak for Votto as the regular season winds down.
