7 years agoCarolina Panthers offensive coordinator Norv Turner doesn't plan on limiting quarterback Cam Newton's identity and have him run less. Newton led both teams in rushing by halftime in Week 1 against the Cowboys and finished with a team-high 58 rushing yards and a touchdown in the win. Through the air, Newton was 17-for-26 for 161 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions for a 65.3 completion percentage. Potential serious injuries to tight end Greg Olsen (foot) and right tackle Daryl Williams (knee) are potentially troublesome for Newton in the long run, but his ability to use his legs keeps him in the QB1 conversation.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
