6 years agoAtlanta Braves starter Sean Newcomb had an excellent bounce-back performance on Monday against the San Francisco Giants. Newcomb went six innings, allowing one run on three hits. The lefty had eight strikeouts and did not issue a single walk en route to his 12th win of the season. Newcomb has been incredibly inconsistent as of late. In his past eight starts, he has allowed one run or less in four of them. In the other four starts, he has allowed a combined 21 runs. This has made him a boom-or-bust fantasy play for the past few months. It is unclear when Newcomb will start again, but it will either be on Sunday against the Washington Nationals or on Monday against the St. Louis Cardinals. Both of those options seem like risky propositions due to Newcomb's erratic ways.--Raymond Harrison - RotoBaller
