6 years agoWith the conclusion of the Triple-A El Paso season, the San Diego Padres recalled infielder Javier Guerra on Tuesday. Guerra will spell Freddy Galvis at shortstop and should also get the occasional start. The 22-year-old struck out in his only two big league at-bats earlier this May. A former touted prospect in 2016, Guerra has fallen off the radar, slashing a modest .223/.269/.398 in the minors this year. Known for his defense and power potential, Guerra did pop 13 homers. The Padres will have the opportunity to evaluate Guerra in the final weeks, but he’s not a fantasy option.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
