Jordan Zimmermann Victimized By Long Balls Again
6 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Jordan Zimmermann has had a bit of an issue keeping the ball inside the yard this season, and Tuesday night's contest against the Houston Astros was a prime example of that. Zimmermann allowed three homers in the game, two of which were two-run blasts, as the Tigers fell to the reigning champs. The three homers raised Zimmermann's season home run total to 24, tied for the second highest total in his career. He has allowed 1.85 HR/9 innings, a career-high rate. In fact, Zim has seen his HR/9 rate climb every season since 2015. It goes without saying that he's a pitcher to avoid for fantasy purposes at this point.
