6 years agoBoston Red Sox ace Chris Sale returned from the disabled list against the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday. He only lasted one inning, throwing 26 pitches. Sale only allowed a single hit while striking out two batters. He was originally supposed to pitch two innings, but the Blue Jays had some extended at-bats against the 29-year-old in the first frame. Manager Alex Cora decided to play it safe, and let Sale finish off his night by pitching in the bullpen. It appears that the Red Sox want to add an inning to Sale's workload every five days, which is an unfortunate scenario for fantasy owners. There were no reported setbacks after Sale's outing on Tuesday, so maybe the Red Sox brass will change their minds and let Sale pitch a little longer on Sunday against the New York Mets.--Raymond Harrison - RotoBaller
