6 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Alex Wood will not make the start Sunday against the Cardinals and could be pushed back to Monday against the Rockies, according to manager Dave Roberts. Ross Stripling would be an option to go on Sunday, but it depends on how his outing against the Reds goes on Wednesday. Wood was roughed up to the tune of eight hits and six earned runs in just 3 2/3 innings by the Reds on Monday, but he had been pretty solid before that, not allowing more than three earned runs in an outing in 13 straight starts. A matchup against the Rockies next week wouldn't be ideal, but the left-hander is talented enough to bounce back against a tough opponent.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
