James Conner Slowed By Chiefs In Week 2
6 years agoPittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner was unable to replicate his Week 1 dominance against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2. Conner picked up just 17 rushing yards on eight carries but he did find the end zone and tacked on five catches for 48 yards in the passing game. The slow game can be mostly pinned on poor game script as the Steelers were down 21-0 by the end of the first quarter, which forced them to mostly abandon the run. That cut into Conner's workload against a Chiefs defense that can be beaten on the ground. Despite the slow outing, Conner has shown enough to be considered a solid RB1 in fantasy for as long as Le'Veon Bell remains away from the team. The Steelers travel to Tampa Bay to take on the Buccaneers in Week 3.
