Andrew Benintendi Mired In Lengthy Slump
6 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Andrew Benintendi was 0-for-3 with a sacrifice fly in Sunday's 4-3 win over the New York Mets. Benintendi is just 28-for-123 (.228) at the plate in his last 30 games with two homers, 14 RBI, and no stolen bases. The 24-year-old has been a consistent performer for the entire season, but this is unquestionably his coldest streak. Benintendi is still slashing .287/.363/.467 on the year with 16 homers, 81 RBI, 99 runs scored, and 20 stolen bases. Even with the slump, he remains a must-start every time he takes the field.
