6 years agoFree-agent wide receiver Jordan Matthews (hamstring) worked out for the Philadelphia Eagles, his original team, on Tuesday, according to a league source. Matthews was released with an injury designation six weeks ago by the Patriots. The receiver left the workout hopeful a deal would get done. The Eagles traded Matthews in 2016 to the Bills, where he had only 25 catches and 282 yards and a score in 10 games in 2017. Philly is looking for receivers with Mike Wallace and Mack Hollins dealing with long-term injuries and Alshon Jeffery yet to make his season debut. Receiver Deandre Carter was also released on Tuesday, leaving just Nelson Agholor, Shelton Gibson and Kamar Aiken as healthy wideouts going into Week 3. Matthews has a history with quarterback Carson Wentz, but it remains to be seen how healthy he is. Matthews remains somewhat of a long shot to produce meaningful numbers if he returns to Philly, but there is opportunity right now.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
