6 years agoBoston Red Sox infielder Eduardo Nunez (knee) left the game in the ninth inning on Wednesday with pain in his right knee. The knee has bothered him over the last week, and he will not play on Thursday as a result. "He felt it a little bit when he was running to first," manager Alex Cora said. "So he decided to make sure we treat him. He's not going to play tomorrow, obviously. We're going to take care of him. Nothing too serious." Nunez also left a game last Thursday with knee pain and sat out of a three-game series against the Mets over the weekend. He could return to the lineup over the weekend, but the Red Sox will likely be cautious with him to make sure he's healthy for the playoffs. Rafael Devers is likely to start at the hot corner until Nunez is ready to return. It wouldn't be wise to expect much from Nunez from a fantasy perspective for the rest of the year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
