Leonard Fournette Says He Feels Much Better
6 years agoJacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette (hamstring) said his injured right hamstring feels much better than it did last week and he is hoping to be able to return in Week 3 against the Titans after sitting out last Sunday. He was limited in practice both Wednesday and Thursday. "It felt good out there," Fournette said. "It's getting back into a rhythm. We'll see [about playing against the Titans]. He is getting daily treatment and is able to run and cut but hinted that the coaching staff will be ultra-cautious with him this week. The coaching staff is likely being extra cautious with Fournette early in the season because of his history with soft-tissue injuries. But it's looking more likely that he'll return to play this Sunday, where he should be a must-start if he's active.

Leonard Fournette Remains Limited Thursday
2 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers running back Leonard Fournette (hamstring) was a limited participant in practice on Thursday for the second straight day. It's good news for the Bucs after receivers Mike Evans (calf), Chris Godwin (hamstring) and Julio Jones (knee) all missed practice. Godwin was already expected to miss Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints, but if one or both of Evans and Jones are also inactive, it will just mean even more work for Fournette and rookie backup Rachaad White. The 27-year-old Fournette had 21 carries for 127 yards and also caught both of his targets for 10 yards in the Week 1 win over the Dallas Cowboys. Barring something unforeseen, Fournette should check in as a low-end RB1 for fantasy managers this weekend.

Leonard Fournette Dealing With Hamstring Injury
2 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers running back Leonard Fournette (hamstring) was listed as being a limited participant in practice on Wednesday. It doesn't appear that Fournette is dealing with a serious injury, as he handled 76% of the snaps in Sunday night's Week 1 win over the Dallas Cowboys, carrying the ball 21 times for 127 yards while also catching both of his targets for 10 yards. However, it's a reminder that Fournette's fantasy managers may want to handcuff him with rookie Rachaad White. As long as Fournette doesn't suffer a setback this week, he'll be a must-start in a divisional clash with the New Orleans Saints in Week 2.

He was efficient with his workload and averaged 6.0 yards per carry. The 27-year-old's longest run of the night was for 17 yards. He had 15 more carries than his teammate Rachaad White. Fournette will look to build on his Week 1 performance and is a must-start against the New Orleans Saints in Week 2.

Leonard Fournette Week 1 Outlook For Fantasy Football
3 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers running back Leonard Fournette put his weight/conditioning concerns behind him in training camp and looked sharp in the preseason. The 27-year-old signed a three-year, $21 million contract with Tampa Bay during the offseason. He will be Tampa Bay's lead back and is projected to receive a substantial workload in 2022. Fournette rushed for 812 yards on 180 attempts and eight touchdowns while catching 69 passes for 454 yards and two scores in 2021. The veteran has a solid matchup in a projected high-scoring affair in Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys, who ranked 16th in rush DVOA last season. Fournette is a borderline RB1 and should be started in all league formats in Week 1.
