BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 14% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Kansas City Royals first baseman Ryan O’Hearn was a sleeper slugger who has made an instant impact for Kansas City with his power. After hitting 11 home runs in 100 Triple-A games this season, O'Hearn has matched that total in 38 games for the Royals. It starts with a 45.3% hard-hit rate combined with a 43% fly ball rate. With a decent contact rate (70.2%), it is easy to see why he has been on a power surge. If O’Hearn can keep his 13.1% walk rate, he will also help in OBP/OPS teams.
He has a hit in four of his last six games, including two multi-hit games, and has tallied four extra-base hits in that same time period. Posting a .418 OBP since the beginning of September, O'Hearn has become a mainstay in the middle of the Royals lineup and has 16 R+BI this month. With his 11 extra-base hits as well, O'Hearn has a .673 slugging percentage since September 1.
If you are looking for power and plate disciple, O'Hearn is just the guy to help you win a fantasy title. The Royals may not help him much in the way of run creation, but he is still able to make an impact. He is more of an addition in deeper leagues.
