6 years agoUpdating a previous report, the Texas Rangers fired manager Jeff Banister on Friday. Bench coach Don Wakamatsu has been named the interim manager for the rest of the 2018 season. Banister led the team to division titles in 2015 and 2016 and was named American League Manager of the Year in 2015. However, the team has limped to losing records each of the last two years, and Banister was cited as having poor communication with his players and staff.
