BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 13% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Minnesota Twins shortstop Jorge Polanco has a hit in six of the last seven games, keeping his fantasy stock at its seasonal highest. While his lack of power was a downside over the last few weeks, Polanco does have four extra base hits in five games, adding to his solid performances over the last two months. Since the beginning of July, Polanco is slashing a respectable .287/.343/.430. While that line is good, his .372/.426/.581 slash line since September 10 is even better
Looking at the last week-plus, Polanco has hit either first or second in the Twins' lineup and has two home runs, three doubles, and 14 R+BI. Those are very solid numbers for a middle infielder, buttressed by his 8.5% K rate and 6.4% BB rate. If Polanco is able to consistently make contact at this rate, he will continue to be a vital cog in fantasy lineups, particularly with his 43.6% line drive rate since the 10th.
Polanco is only 1-for-3 on stolen base attempts over the last week-plus, but fantasy owners know that there will be opportunities to run. While there are safer options in the middle infield in more shallow leagues, Polanco is a solid option in deeper leagues.
