ANALYSIS: Remember when everyone thought Greg Bird was going to be a fantasy stud? He's battled injury as usual, and been pretty terrible when he has played. Enter Luke Voit, a little-known 27-year-old who entered the season with 62 plate appearances in the majors. Since taking command of the Yankees' first base job on August 24, Voit has hit an absurd .342/.422/.747 with 10 home runs and 39 R+BI in 90 plate appearances. That includes three homers in the past two games.

Is Voit really this good? Probably not, but at this point in the season, it hardly matters. A bat this sizzling needs to be in your lineup, and you can still nab him for free in over two-thirds of Yahoo leagues right now.
