6 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Jacob Nix was lit up for six earned runs in Saturday’s loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Six hits including two homers did him in after 2 1/3 innings. The 22-year-old rookie now holds a 6.81 ERA and 1.49 WHIP after eight starts. Nix has shown flashes of promise since his debut but middling velocity and a 4.9 K/9 have yet to consistently fool big league hitters. Nix will have one more opportunity against the Arizona Diamondbacks on September 28 to finish strong and convincingly throw his hat in the ring for the Padres rotation in 2019.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
