6 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers promoted quarterback Nick Mullens from the practice squad on Wednesday. The move was expected after the Niners placed Jimmy Garoppolo (knee) on injured reserve. Mullens is an undrafted second-year player out of Southern Miss who passed for almost 12,000 yards in four collegiate years. His next NFL snap will be his first. Mullens will back up quarterback C.J. Beathard and likely slide down to the third string once the 49ers eventually sign a veteran free-agent. This roster move has no fantasy implications.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
