6 years agoSan Francisco 49ers wide receivers Marquise Goodwin and Pierre Garcon suffered a material impairment to their fantasy value with the season-ending injury to quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. Week 4 presents a daunting challenge against a Los Angeles Chargers secondary that has struggled this year but allowed the third-fewest passing yards in 2017. While both Goodwin and Garcon have game experience with quarterback C.J. Beathard, it’s unrealistic to believe their performance with an inexperienced second-year quarterback will match their potential with Garoppolo. Despite grabbing a touchdown in Week 3, Goodwin is best viewed as a WR3 and bench-worthy in shallower leagues.
