Don Mattingly To Return In 2019
6 years agoMiami Marlins manager Don Mattingly will be back for the final year of his contract in 2019, but the status of the rest of his coaching staff is unclear. In his three seasons with Miami, Mattingly has gone 219-265 and has yet to have a winning record after finishing 63-98 in 2018. It's unclear if Miami will keep him around past 2019 as they continue to rebuild, but it's unlikely.

Eugenio Suarez Injures Finger Fridays
2 years agoSeattle Mariners third baseman Eugenio Suarez (finger) injured his right index finger on a ground ball in the fourth inning on Friday night against the Los Angeles Angels and underwent X-rays that were "inconclusive," according to manager Scott Servais. Suarez should be considered day-to-day for now, but his fantasy managers should be expecting him to sit out of Saturday's lineup. The 31-year-old has been a big power threat, clubbing 31 home runs while slashing .235/.335/.470 with an .805 OPS, 84 RBI and 72 runs scored in 511 at-bats this year. Check back for additional details on Suarez's injury after he likely undergoes more testing this weekend.

David Fletcher Heading To Injured List
2 years agoLos Angeles Angels second baseman David Fletcher (hand) is heading to the injured list after he was hit on the right hand last Saturday. Fletcher's scan came back negative, but there's a possibility of a bone bruise. The hope is that he can play the last week of the regular season. The 28-year-old's injury doesn't sound very serious, but he's going on the shelf regardless. He entered the game in the sixth inning on Friday night against the Seattle Mariners and went 0-for-1 with a strikeout and a run scored. Fletcher just hasn't done much for fantasy managers at all in 2022, hitting .259/.296/.349 with only two home runs, 15 RBI, 19 runs scored and one stolen base in 189 at-bats during an injury-plagued campaign.
