6 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher J.A. Happ has been named the starter for Game 1 of the American League Division Series against the Red Sox on Friday. Happ was very solid for the Bronx Bombers after they traded for him, going a perfect 7-0 with a 2.69 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 8.9 K/9 over 11 starts. Overall, he was 17-6 with a 3.65 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 193 K's in 177 2/3 innings over 31 starts. The veteran southpaw faced Boston a total of four times, allowing 17 hits (two home runs) and 11 runs while walking six and striking out 29 over 22 2/3 innings for a 1.99 ERA. He faced them twice while with New York, with both coming last month, and he held them to four earned runs in 12 innings. Despite his success against the best hitting lineup in baseball this year, Happ will be a risky DFS play on Friday.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
