BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
OWNED IN: 4% of Leagues
UPDATE: With news that Jay Ajayi is out for the season with a torn ACL, we now suggest adding Wendell Smallwood in all leagues. Corey Clement and Darren Sproles will likely get a share of the playing time in Philly, but Smallwood is the man to own for the Eagles.
ANALYSIS: You may be hesitant about adding Philadelphia Eagles running back Wendell Smallwood to your rosters, but with each passing week, he continues to accrue touches and assemble yardage due to the ongoing injuries in the Eagles' backfield. He amassed 74 yards and a touchdown on eight touches in Week 5, which sustained a weekly process in which Smallwood has manufactured respectable numbers, while Philadelphia's other backs contend with prolonged health issues.
Jay Ajayi has maintained a presence in the lineup despite his back problem (10 touches per game), but Darren Sproles (hamstring) has been absent since Week 1, and Corey Clement’s contributions have been non-existent since Week 3 (quad). Meanwhile, Smallwood has accumulated 35 touches during the team's last four contests (8.8 per game) due to his ability to retain health and availability. If you are concerned that his role could soon be diminished, remember how many weeks that scenario has seemed imminent, but has yet to occur.
