BALLER MOVE: Add in 10-Team PPR Leagues
OWNED IN: 56% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: New York Jets running back Bilal Powell may be behind Isaiah Crowell on the depth chart, but with Crowell nursing an ankle injury, Powell could get more work this week. In fact, even in Crowell's breakout game against the Broncos where he ran for 219 yards, it was Powell that had more carries (20 vs. 15 for Crowell). While he also lost a fumble in the game against Denver, it is clear that the Jets will utilize both Powell and Crowell.
After posting 99 rushing yards against the Broncos in Week 5, Powell had 16 carries for 59 yards against the Colts on Sunday. He fumbled in that game as well and, even though he did not lose the fumble, this could lead some to think that he has fumbling issues. This is not exactly the case (he has fumbled eight times on 988 career touches) and has lost just three fumbles in his career. We suggest Powell in PPR leagues, as he has four or more catches in two of his last five games, but fantasy owners do need to keep in mind that he has not had a catch in either of the last two games.
The Vikings, who the Jets will face in Week 7, are 4th against RB. This may make it easier to get Powell, as he may go unnoticed on the wire with a poor matchup on the horizon. Even though he may not have the best matchup this week, still target Powell in shallow leagues.
