BALLER MOVE: Add in 10-Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 6% of Leagues
UPDATE: It has been reported on Friday 10/19 that Marshawn Lynch is expected to miss at least one month, and could even be a candidate for IR.
ANALYSIS: Oakland Raiders running back Doug Martin is in a great spot to be an answer in most leagues after an injury to Marshawn Lynch. Beast Mode is dealing with what is becoming a very concerning groin injury and this opens the door for Martin and Jalen Richard for the Raiders. The Raiders are sending Lynch for an MRI and there is a chance that the back that gets the most carries for the Silver and Black may still be on waivers.
Neither Richard nor Martin are owned in more than 10% of leagues, but Martin is basically unowned, and for good reason. Tallying just eight touches over the last three games, Martin did not even have a carry on Sunday against the Seahawks (one catch for eight yards). This comes as Richard has become a PPR darling with 13 catches in the last two games, which actually may be a good thing. Richard only has 11 carries for 32 yards this season, potentially making him the receiving back in a 1-2 punch with Martin. While Martin has struggled over the last two-plus seasons, remember that he is still only 29 and had 1402 rushing yards in 2015.
It might not be the time to sprint to get Martin, as the Raiders are on bye, but do not wait too long. The Raiders have been a mess offensively, so the veteran presence of Martin may be needed. As of now, Martin is a must-add in most leagues as the Raiders work with the questionable Lynch.
