6 years agoSan Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said that quarterback Nick Mullens will remain C.J. Beathard's backup even after the team signed Tom Savage to a one-year deal this week. “Our team has confidence in him. The other guy just got here last night and is just trying to learn what the words mean," Shanahan said. Mullens would only be a desperation low-end QB2 if he were forced into playing time this year if Beathard were injured.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
