Carlos Hyde Traded To Jacksonville
6 years agoThe Jacksonville Jaguars are acquiring running back Carlos Hyde in a trade with the Cleveland Browns. With running back Leonard Fournette (hamstring) out for at least the next three weeks, Hyde should step in and provide the team with strong insurance in the short and long term. While his status for the Week 7 meeting with the Texans is unclear, an active Hyde would cut into running back T.J. Yeldon's workload enough to make the current Jaguars unplayable. Monitor Hyde's availability heading into Sunday, but it's more likely he debuts in Week 8 against the Eagles. If this trade speaks to a deeper issue with Fournette, Hyde would be a strong RB2 the rest of the season.
