6 years agoWashington Redskins quarterback Alex Smith continued a season in which he's been much better at managing actual football games than winning fantasy contests in Sunday's 20-17 triumph over the Cowboys. Smith's final line for the day was 14 completions on 25 pass attempts for 178 yards and a touchdown. It was the second straight game in which he failed to reach the 200-yard plateau. A beleaguered corps of pass-catchers hasn't done Smith any favors in recent weeks, but the much bigger picture here is that the Redskins clearly prefer to win with defense and the running game. Smith's potential to put up big numbers is hindered as a result.--Chris O'Reilly
