6 years agoWashington Capitals center Nicklas Backstrom posted three assists with a plus-two rating, three shots on goal and a minor penalty in 19:38 of ice time in Monday's 5-2 road win against the Vancouver Canucks. It wasn't all great for the Swede, as he was a dismal 4-for-15 in the faceoff circle (26.7 percent). That's splitting hairs, though, and not many pools take points off for faceoff disparity. He will take a four-game point streak into Thursday's game against the Edmonton Oilers, posting a goal with seven points and a plus-3 rating during the solid span. He also has at least one power-play point in six of his eight outings to date.--Daniel Dobish
