6 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw will start Game 5 of the World Series against the Red Sox on Sunday. Kershaw was expected to start Game 5 all along. The left-hander allowed five earned runs on seven hits in just four innings to take the loss in Game 1 and has not had great success in his career in the postseason. In his five outings (four starts) this postseason, he has a 3.91 ERA with seven walks and 21 strikeouts in 23 innings, although he's holding opponents to a .220 batting average. Despite his less-than-stellar postseason history, Kershaw is plenty capable of shutting down the potent Boston lineup, especially at home.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
