6 years agoThe Houston Astros are planning on extending a $17.9 million qualifying offer to starting pitcher Dallas Keuchel. However, they aren't planning on extending an offer to infielder/outfielder Marwin Gonzalez. Keuchel is expected to decline the offer and pursue a long-term deal on the free-agent market. The southpaw doesn't miss a ton of bats, but he generates plenty of ground balls and had a nice 3.74 ERA and 1.31 WHIP while going 12-11 in 2018. It remains to be seen if the 'Stros will try to re-sign him, but Keuchel will remain a strong fantasy option no matter where he's pitching in 2019.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
