BALLER MOVE: Add in 14-Team PPR Leagues
OWNED IN: 1% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Oakland Raiders wide receiver Seth Roberts was targeted 13 times in two games before the bye and then caught two balls for 42 yards and a touchdown on Sunday against the Colts. While he was only targeted four times against Indianapolis, it is obvious that the Raiders want Roberts to be an option in the offense. With both Marshawn Lynch and Amari Cooper no longer in the fold for the Silver and Black, now may be the time to grab Roberts.
Jordy Nelson is the most obvious benefactor in the trade of Cooper to Dallas, but there will still be opportunities for other receivers in Oakland. Roberts received the third-most snaps of any receiver against the Colts, but was still significantly out-snapped (60%) by both Brandon LaFell (92%) and Jordy Nelson (90%). The key point to look at, though, is that Martavis Bryant, seen as a better pickup, received just 14% of the snaps against Indy.
The 49ers rank 22nd against fantasy WR, upgrading the whole Raiders' receiving corps for their Thursday night matchup. While LaFell and Nelson will get the majority of the touches in the passing game, there is reason to believe that Roberts is ahead of Bryant for the WR3 role in Oakland. Considering that he was receiving volume before the bye and had a touchdown last week, he is a good addition in deeper leagues.
