6 years agoThe Chicago Cubs picked up starting pitcher Jose Quintana's $10.5 million option for the 2019 season on Wednesday. In his first full season in Chicago, Quintana was the definition of up and down, going 13-11 with a 4.03 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 8.2 K/9 over 32 starts (174 1/3 innings). Walks (3.5 per nine innings) and home runs (1.3 per nine) were his Achilles heel. If the control improves, he could improve upon those numbers in 2019, but most fantasy owners will merely see him as rotation depth in the late rounds.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
