Gus Edwards May Be Worth A Gamble In Week 12
6 years agoBaltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards was the NFL's most elusive runner last week, according to Pro Football Focus. Edwards, who became the first Ravens' back to top the 100-yard mark this year, racked up 115 yards on 17 carries for an impressive 6.8 yards per carry in Week 11. The undrafted rookie received a 251.9 elusive rating from PFF, which was the highest for the week, as he forced the Bengals into eight missed tackles and gained 91 yards after the first contact. The 23-year-old led the team in attempts versus Cincinnati as well, earning 10 more carries than starter Alex Collins, who totaled 17 yards along with a touchdown on seven attempts. While the former Rutgers Scarlett Knight's role going forward is unknown, he and the rest of the Ravens' backfield have an appealing matchup against the Raiders in Week 12. Oakland is allowing the sixth-most fantasy points to running backs in standard leagues and ninth most in PPR leagues. Overall, they are allowing a league-high 131.0 rushing yards to opposing running backs. So, if fantasy owners are in need of a running back and are willing to roll the dice, taking a chance on Edwards could pay big dividends.
