BALLER MOVE: Add In 12-Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 27% of leagues
ANALYSIS: As the 9-13 Miami Heat fight to grab the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference, Dwyane Wade is dropping jaws across the league as he takes his victory-lap season. Wade has taken on his most prominent role for a team since he was a member of the Chicago Bulls; and in 25.8 minutes he is averaging a well-rounded 15.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. Most impressively, D-Wade is taking and making more three-pointers than he ever has before in his career, as he is making 1.6 shots from long-distance out of 4.1 attempts per contest for a success rate of 38.2% (all three of those figures are career-highs). While Wade has taken this season as an opportunity to mentor the young and talented Heat roster, he has been one of it's most efficient producers at the age of 36.
Even though he ranks eighth on the team in floor-time, in terms of per-game production "Flash" is seventh on the team in rebounds, third on the team in scoring, second on the team in assists only to Goran Dragic, and second on the team in three-point percentage to only Josh Richardson. Wade has been coming on extremely strong as of late, in fact; he has put up 86 total points over the last four games (21.5 per game), with 5.75 assists per game, and interestingly he has blocked a shot in six out of his last seven games played. Dwyane Wade is a living legend and he obviously has a lot to offer the young Heat squad in terms of basketball and life wisdom, but don't let the jersey-swapping fool you: this isn't a typical victory-lap season, and Dwyane Wade has plenty left to offer fantasy basketball managers as well.
