6 years agoWashington Capitals left wing Alex Ovechkin scored his 21st career hat trick and Niklas Backstrom picked up four assists when the Stanley Cup champs easily took care of the Red Wings on Tuesday. The Capitals captain has now scored in four straight games, taking his tally for the season to a league-best 25 goals. Ovechkin hadn't netted a hatty since Nov. 25, 2017.
